1. Injection molded products
PP resin can account for about half of injection molding products. Daily necessities use ordinary PP as raw materials, auto parts use reinforced or toughened PP as raw materials, and others mainly use PPC raw materials with high impact strength and low embrittlement temperature. The specific injection molded products of PP are as follows.
Car
PP has increasingly become the leading material for auto parts, and has become the largest plastic variety for automobiles. For example, toughened PP is used for bumpers and wheel housings, while reinforced PP is used for instrument panels, steering wheels, handles and battery cases.
Daily Necessities
Ordinary PP is used for hangers, chairs, buckets, basins, stools, bookshelves, bathtubs, toys, stationery, office supplies, furniture, turnover boxes and cargo boxes, etc.
Electrical Appliance
Modified PP is used in washing machine bucket, TV casing, electric fan blade, refrigerator lining and telephone casing, etc.
2. Film products
PP film can account for about 10% of the amount of PP. It is characterized by transparency and surface gloss close to cellophane, but the softness is not good, and there is a strong sound when kneading by hand; it has high strength and can be used for heavy packaging materials; the oxygen permeability is only HDPE film 30%, suitable for moisture-proof packaging materials, such as high-end clothing, medicines, cigarettes and other packaging.
PP film has good heat resistance, can be boiled and sterilized, and is used for packaging of frozen and fresh food.
PP film has good electrical insulation performance, and the oriented film after heat setting treatment can be used as insulating material for capacitors, motors and transformers, which is better than PET film.
PP’s biaxially stretched film has good strength, transparency and gloss, and can be used for typewriter tapes, adhesive tape base films and cigarette packaging films, etc.
3. Fiber Products
PP fiber products mainly include monofilament, flat filament and fiber.
PP monofilament has low density, good toughness, and good wear resistance, and is suitable for the production of ropes and fishing nets.
PP flat yarn has high tensile strength and is suitable for producing woven bags instead of sacks; PP woven bags have the characteristics of moisture resistance and high strength, and can be used for packaging chemical fertilizers, cement, grain, sugar, mineral powder and chemical raw materials. PP flat yarn can also be used to produce woven fabrics, which are used for promotional materials, tents and rainproof cloths.
PP fiber is widely used in carpets, blankets, clothing, mosquito nets, artificial turf, artificial fur, diapers, filter cloth, non-woven fabrics and curtains, etc.
4. Extruded Products
PP Tubes and Fittings
Pipes and pipe fittings are new application fields, mainly using PPC as raw material; pipes can be used for water supply, drainage, heating and chemical corrosive media, etc., pipes and pipe fittings are connected by hot-melt method.
Sheet
PP sheet is made of PP/PE blend, mainly used for stationery and blister products, specifically water cups, ice cream boxes, medicine trays, albums, name-brand folders, file folders, handicrafts, etc.
In addition, PP can also be used as rods, plates and other products, and the plates can be used to produce automobile fenders, car seats, motor and pump housings, liquid storage tanks, etc.
5. Hollow Products
PP hollow products have good transparency and mechanical properties, but single-layer bottles are mainly used for packaging of detergents, cosmetics and medicines, and composite bottles combined with barrier materials are used for packaging of food (such as soy sauce), liquid fuels and chemical reagents.
