PU elastomer can replace natural rubber, nitrile rubber and neoprene, and can also replace plastic and metal in many aspects.
(1) Automobile industry
The thermoplastic elastomers used in automobiles are mainly polyester, and RIMPUR is generally used, and 6%~8% of glass fiber and glass microspheres are added to it for reinforcement. The specific products include bumpers, fenders, steering wheels, spoilers, trunk lids, door handles, armrests, instrument panels and anti-skid chains, etc.
PU elastomer has the advantages of high elasticity, large bearing capacity, good wear resistance, and cutting resistance, but because of its characteristic that the strain lags behind the stress, the tires made can only be used for low-speed vehicles, such as the solid core tires, carriage tires, forklift tires, small tires and bicycle tires, etc.
(2) Building materials
It is mainly used for artificial runways in sports fields, underground pipe seals, waterproof materials, formwork for building concrete walls and ceiling reliefs, etc.
(3) Footwear industry
Utilizing the advantages of wear resistance, high elasticity, high bending strength and good low temperature resistance of PU elastomer, it is widely used in high-grade sole materials such as sports shoes, skates and mountain climbing shoes, etc.
(4) Synthetic leather
The synthetic leather material made of PU has the performance closest to that of natural leather, with good hand feeling, high air permeability and moderate softness, is widely used in clothing, leather shoes, furniture, bags and vehicle seats, etc.
(5) Medical equipment
Taking advantage of the physiological compatibility and antithrombotic properties of PU elastomers, it can be used in bandages, cardiac aids, blood pumps, artificial blood vessels, artificial kidneys and artificial ventricles, etc.
(6) Other aspects
Casting PU elastomers can be used to manufacture rolls, which can be used in high load-bearing and high wear-resistant steel and paper industries; PU elastomers can also be used for high wear-resistant and high-strength structural materials in oil fields, mining and metallurgical industries, such as oil fields rotary desander, coal screen, flotation machine, spiral concentrator, ore conveying pipe and transmission belts.
